Mold making and Resin casting class.

An event every week that begins at 5:00pm on Thursday, repeating until April 27, 2017
Dates: April 13th, 20th, and 27th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Cost For the 3 Weeks of Classes: $90, materials included. Additional materials available upon request (additional fees apply).

This class will cover the basics of figure sculpting, mold making techniques, resin pigmenting and casting. This class is project based so come ready with an idea which is under 5 inches (does not have to be an action figure).
Week 1 class will cover the basics of figure sculpting techniques including use of polymer clay and wax sculpting materials and tool usage.
Week 2 will cover mold box creation and methods to make a 1 and 2-part mold.
Week 3 will cover mold preparation for casting, resin pigmenting, casting, and cleaning.
Caleb Zammit is a professional sculptor, educator and autism specialist with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. He specializes in Resin Casting, Mold Making, Figure Sculpting, Traditional Special FX Costume Creation, and Animatronic FX. His experiences also include multiple painting techniques, screen-printing, 3d scanning and printing and various other forms of studio art. He has a Texas educator certification in art, K-5 general education, special education and English as second language education.
This class is informal and intended to be a friendly and positive experience for all, the museum reserves the right to remove any student without refund if the instructor deems the other students experience is being negatively impacted or the instructor isn't being respected and allowed to teach.
Future classes will be determined by interest level. Currently the museum is considering offering: Movie Monster and Cos-Play Costume Classes, 3d Printing and Scanning, Vacuum Forming techniques, Large Scale Fiber Glassing into molds, and Advanced Figure Sculpting, Mold Making and Resin Casting.
